Indiana’s Driver’s License Reinstatement Fees
No matter how you lost your license, you could be required to pay fees to get it reinstated. The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) reinstatement fees vary depending on the reason for your suspension and the number of times your license has been suspended. They range from $250 to $1,000. You can find how much you owe in the Suspension Information section of your Official Driver Record (ODR).

Indiana’s Driver’s License Insurance Requirements
In addition to paying reinstatement fees, you need to fulfill insurance requirements to get your license back. All drivers are required to carry minimum auto liability insurance coverage, which includes $25,000 for injury or death of one person, $50,000 for injury or death of two or more people, and $25,000 for property damage.
If you are caught driving without this necessary insurance coverage, your license could be suspended until you provide proof of insurance and pay associated fees.
What Is an SR-22?
You may need to obtain an SR-22 form if your license was suspended for driving without insurance and other violations. Your insurance provider can issue this form to prove you have the required coverage. However, your provider may be unable or unwilling to add an SR-22 endorsement to your existing policy. In this case, you would need to purchase a new policy.
